The scratching on the door meant that Millie was back from her walk alone. The spaniel always brought something back from her walks and she wondered what it would be as she hurried to the door. Each step was accompanied by the continued scratching and woofs. That’s a happy woof, she thought, as she opened the door to Millie and her supposedly dead father.
